Netiquette
Definition: the rules of
polite online interaction
While using the
internet as a form of communication it is important to be both polite and
professional. The way you compose yourself will solely reflect your company’s
image. When composing email messages it’s important to always consider your
reader, and anticipate how they will react.
Netiquette guidelines:
·
Limit any tendency to send blank copies
·
Never send spam
·
Consider using identifying labels
·
Use capital letters only for emphasis or titles
·
Don’t forward messages without permission
·
Reduce attachments
Proper netiquette in
internet communication is more important than etiquette in reality because
words are the sole determinant of a messages meaning.
Following professional
netiquette is important because communication through the internet lacks a
sense of connection that real life conversations have.
“The
internet is a network and netiquette is a social code “
